Welcome To

Montreal Drum Lessons!

“We will focus on great teaching & engage our students during a time when there are more distractions coming at them than ever before.” - Vince Di Zazzo

His career has shown people everywhere that Vince Di Zazzo can shine in all types of music styles, including jazz drumming, latin drumming, rock drumming, and blues drumming. Vince was born in Montreal, Canada. At the age of 13 he began taking lessons locally with Johnny Pepe, an amazing teacher who was years ahead of his time. By the time he was 15, Vince was already playing for many local shows and bands.

He quickly realized that music would play a major role in his life. He practiced under different drummers who inspired him and brought on a wide variety of drumming styles. He took lessons under Jacques Masson, Lou Williamson, as well as legendary drummer Pete Magadini.

It wasn’t long before Vince realized he had a passion for teaching, and the gift of being able to communicate and engage students. In just a few years he became highly regarded as a reputable drum instructor. His approach and method to drum teaching has earned him great reviews for the past 30 years.

F.A.Q.'s

WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER INSTRUCTORS?

30 years committed to my profession has allowed me to attain a level of teaching expertise that just cannot be achieved in any other way.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE A STUDENT WHO WANTS TO EXCEL?

Schedule a daily practice routine and try to stick to your schedule.

DO I NEED A DRUMSET IF I AM TAKING DRUM LESSONS?

The first few lessons will be spent on teaching you proper stick positioning, proper movement as well as time keeping exercises.

DO I HAVE TO LEARN TO READ MUSIC?

Learning how to read would be most beneficial in your development as a drummer! You will be surprised how fast you will learn how to read.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE DRUM LESSONS WITH YOU EVEN IF I DON'T LIVE IN MONTREAL?

Yes! I do offer lessons via Skype. For more information about Skype lessons, please send me a message through my Contact page.

IS MY CHILD TOO YOUNG, OR AM I TOO OLD TO PLAY DRUMS?

You are never too old to learn. if your child can sit behind the drum set with both feet comfortably on the foot pedals,  you are ready to go.

I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX. CAN I STILL TAKE LESSONS WITHOUT DISTURBING THE NEIGHBORS?

You may want to consider the purchase of an electronic drum set which can be extremely quiet for the neighbors and very enjoyable for you.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND DRUM LESSONS?

Lessons are scheduled once a week. This is to allow you enough time to practice and absorb the lesson's material.

HOW MUCH PRACTICE SHOULD I DO DAILY?

Weekly assignments are based on a daily schedule ranging anywhere from 30 min to 90 min of  practice, depending on your level.

Great teachers like Vince put their blood, sweat and tears into their profession, spending days caring about students. he’s always prepared and organized. He exhibits an expertise in the art of teaching drums and spends time continuing to gain new knowledge in the field. He always presents material in an enthusiastic manner and instills a hunger in his students to learn more. Providing them the opportunity to find that inner spark that may change their lives. I should know, I was one of those students.
